F.A.Q’s
Q: When is worship?
A: Sunday morning worship is every Sunday at 9:00 am
Q: Do you Baptize babies?
A: Yes, we baptize for member and non member alike. Jesus himself said, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matt 28:19,20. Baptism washes away sins, forgives and gives us new life as children of God. Want your child baptized? Contact Pastor Tim (pastor@carbonchurch.com) and he'd be happy to give you the details.
Q: What do you offer for kids?
A: At CVL we seek to help families grow together and in God's Word. When parents and caregivers are active in their own faith, kids learn from them. In every worship service we include "Children's Lessons" taught by Pastor Tim. These Gospel centered messages are hands on, practical, and taught on a kid's level. In addition, we provide a fully staffed nursery and Sunday School during our worship service. Because we feel families worshipping together is important, once a month is "Family Sunday" where we all worship together.
Q: What do you offer for adults?
A: Once again, we believe the only way to live your faith is to be in God's Word. To accomplish that, we offer "Connect Groups." These Connect Groups (Bible Studies) key off of our Sunday Sermon and allow individuals to ask questions, share experiences and strengthen fellow believers. They also provide a great setting to build deeper relationships with other Christians. Connect Groups are constantly forming. Feel free to visit or reach out for dates and times.
Q: Who is your Pastor and what's his story?
A: In short, Pastor Tim Spiegelberg has been a pastor and missionary for 19 years. He grew up in Alaska and Grand Junction. His most recent churches were in North Branch, Michigan, and Toronto, Canada. For more on Pastor Tim and his families' journey to Carbon Valley click HERE.
Q: Whats the story behind your unique building design?
A: Great question. Our building has a history and future. Click HERE for some fun facts about or building and before and after images.

Our Beliefs
In an age of anxiety, we believe that real peace comes from Jesus Christ.
In an age of confusion, we believe that the Bible is the word of God; without error, and it will endure forever.
In an age of doubt, we believe that Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
In an age of guilt, we believe that Jesus died on the cross to remove the power of sin from our lives.
In an age of hopelessness, we believe that Jesus rose physically from death; and so will we rise.
In an age of skepticism, we believe that God is at work in the sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion.
In an age of despair, we believe God’s promises to heal and transform us.
In an age of violence, we believe that God calls us to embody his love in the world.
In an age of constant change, we believe in the unchanging Holy Trinity; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Our Heritage
CVL is a church plant supported by the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). The WELS has been around since 1850, and serves hundreds of thousands of Christians both in North America and around the world.
CVL follows the Bible first and foremost. We also hold to the Lutheran Confessions. These documents were prepared in the 16th century during the Protestant Reformation. Undeniably, life is not the same today as it was in Germany in the 1500s. Fortunately for all of us, God remains the same forever. The truths of grace, love, redemption and the practical wisdom for life that God has given us through His Word, are just as real and useful today. We seek to share the life giving message of Jesus honoring the past and looking to the future.
